New skills to build new business

JPC Engineering delivers a wide range of engineering projects from design concept, through 3D design, drafting of production drawings, fabrication and machining, site installation to commissioning. With over 20 years experience in the industry, the opportunity to upskill staff in management was a major benefit to the business.

The Manufacturing Skills Queensland Productivity Places Program (PPP) Funding provided the opportunity for JPC Engineering to focus on training to build and improve the business. In these tough economic times, it was necessary to find better ways for them to manage business resources, and to ensure the business was taking advantage of every opportunity.

Delivered locally, Upskilled’s Diploma of Management course was an excellent training solution. Students enjoyed up to date course material, quality trainer contact and networking opportunities with other businesses in the local area.

The training has had an immediate impact on the business. New procedures and OHS documentation which were developed during the course have already been used in Tender Applications, while people management and communication skills have also been great for the business. Long term, staff are excited about future studies, and continuing to use new skills and knowledge to build a bigger and better business.

The Manufacturing Skills Queensland PPP funding enabled JPC Engineering to invest in management training with a tight budget. It has been a great success for staff and the business.
